The John Muir Trail

Here are some photos from our thru-hike on the John Muir Trail this past summer of 2024. One day I’d like to add embedded maps and links, but for now, just photos.

We began this hike in mid-June of 2024 and finished at Whitney Portal a few days after July 4th. This is slightly earlier than a typical JMT hike. The ice and snow on the passes was not bad; 2024 had been a dead average year for precipitation in the Sierra Nevada. Silver lining: very few bugs in the early season and we finished just as the summer monsoon began. Talk about threading a needle!
